
MEYTEC GmbH Informationssysteme and the Finnish e-health specialist JST Healthcare Solutions today
announce their strategic partnership. The aim of the partnership is to significantly improve cross-sector
patient management by integrating a certified symptom checker into MEYTEC’s latest telemedicine
terminal. The system will be unveiled to industry professionals for the first time next week at the DMEA
in Berlin (Hall 3).
Intelligent initial assessment meets direct medical expertise
At the heart of the partnership is the integration of JST Healthcare Solutions’ digital medical history
solution into MEYTEC’s terminal hardware. The symptom checker is a certified Class IIa medical
device that enables patients to receive a legally compliant and medically sound initial assessment of
their symptoms.
The terminal stands out from previous solutions thanks to a key unique selling point: hybrid care. If the
multilingual symptom checker does not produce a clear result or if the system recommends direct
medical contact, an audiovisual connection to a specialist can be established immediately. This final
decision-making authority by a telemedicine-connected doctor directly at the point of care represents a
new standard in digital care.
Areas of application and patient management
The application scenarios for the new terminal are diverse and aim to relieve the pressure on existing
care structures:
- Emergency centres and A&E departments: For efficient triage and to relieve pressure on staff.
- Pharmacies: As a low-threshold access point for initial medical assessment.
- Assisted living facilities: For rapid assessment of symptoms without the need for
- stressful patient transport.
“By intelligently combining automated initial assessment with the ability to directly involve specialists in
the treatment process, we are creating genuine active patient management,” explains Gerhard W.

Technological integration and future outlook
The terminal will be fully integrated into the telematics infrastructure (TI) via the respective operators,
ensuring secure data exchange within the German healthcare system.
MEYTEC and JST are also already looking to the near future: a planned further development includes an
AI-supported dialogue model via a personalised avatar, as well as contactless recording of vital signs
using AI-supported sensor technology. This will further lower the barrier for patients and increase the
diagnostic depth at the terminal.
