From messenger to healthcare ecosystem

– Werneuchen and Hüttlingen, 10.09.2026 –

MEYTEC and BLACKPIN are launching a strategic partnership with the aim of rethinking healthcare provision by medical service providers and in the home through the smart networking of people, medical devices, sensors and digital services, and of delivering solutions to achieve this. The MEYCHAT messenger, based on BLACKPIN’s technology, provides a central platform that connects people easily, quickly and securely.

From messenger to healthcare ecosystem

Healthcare is changing. Medical services are now being delivered outside hospitals too. As a result, the importance of digitally supported patient care through collaboration between hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, care homes, medical care centers and GP practices is increasing. Ultimately, it will make sense to provide some healthcare at home as well, and it will be necessary. However, this will result in a shift in the technological challenges involved.

Even if care becomes increasingly decentralised in the future, everyone involved must remain securely connected to one another. At the same time, a great deal of relevant information is generated outside the clinic – for example, through remote or self-treatment, medical devices, wearables and sensors. This is where the joint strategy of MEYTEC and BLACKPIN comes in: The MEYCHAT messenger based on the Matrix protocol can serve as the exchange platform for this purpose. Matrix is an open standard and protocol for secure, real-time communication. What began as a communication and information tool has evolved into a central collaboration platform for networked medical care. It features IoT interfaces, an admin center and a dashboard for managing all teams.

Digital collaboration system, not individual solutions

Patients do not remain within a single care system permanently. They may travel from the ambulance service to hospital, then to a care home and a GP’s surgery before returning home. With MEYCHAT, these transitions can be supported very effectively digitally.

Gerhard W. Meyer, the managing director of MEYTEC GmbH Informationssysteme, commented: “We are delighted about the collaboration between MEYTEC and BLACKPIN, which began this year. The first result of this partnership is the highly secure MEYCHAT messenger, which is based on BLACKPIN technology and will be available from October. This opens up new areas of application, ranging from emergency care and clinical and outpatient care to nursing and self-care at home. Our aim is to further develop MEYCHAT into a TI messenger, thereby enabling the exchange of a wide variety of data with all users of the telematics infrastructure.”

The Managing Director of BLACKPIN GmbH, Ms Sandra Jörg, commented: “For Blackpin, the collaboration with Meytec is an important step. It will help to further develop our own platform strategy. The Matrix protocol is used in the MEYCHAT messenger technology, which can therefore be utilised as a secure infrastructure across a broad spectrum of healthcare applications. We look forward to future developments and are keen to support them as MEYTEC’s technology partner.”
