First Stroke Emergency Mobile (STEMO) is replaced by the new version of STEMO 2.0

stemo2-2017
The first STEMO, deployed for the earliest possible prehospital emergency stroke care in Berlin-Wilmersdorf as a scientific platform of the Charité University Medicine and the Berlin Fire Department, was decommissioned after 6 years of daily operation in November 2017. During this 6 year period staff on board STEMO treated a significant number of patients in a prehospital environment. The first evaluations showed, that this innovative stroke care pathway concept for patients, with an acute stroke, proved equally as secure as the treatment within an established stroke unit. The first version of STEMO was replaced by the new STEMO 2.0 and relocated to the Fire Department station in Charlottenburg North.
