Telemedicine cooperation with Charité: innovation in the acute neurological care

The Altmark-Hospital published on the 12th of December 2019 a press release “Innovation: Telemedicine link to the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin”. The treatment quality for neurological emergency patients is improving in the western Altmark region. They receive the necessary highly specialized care faster and around the clock, especially in the case of strokes. An acute neurological treatment unit has been set up for this purpose, which will work in a collegial system, flanked by interdisciplinary cooperation with other professional groups in nursing and specialist therapy.

The neuro-team in the Altmark hospital is linked to the innovative telemedical network ANNOTeM under the leadership of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. During teleconsultation, in addition to the direct examination of the patient by the neurologist located in the expert center, CT images of the brain can also be examined.
