Clinical trial to STEMO “PHANTOM-S” published in JAMA

In the context of the research project Stroke Emergency Mobil Unit (STEMO) the Charité –University medicine Berlin, carried out a clinical trial with the name PHANTOM-S. The results were published on the 23th April 2014 in the “Journal of The American Medical Association (JAMA)”. JAMA is the most widespread international medical professional journal worldwide. The medical research results of high scientific importance are published here. The study compared the quality of the patient care in the STEMO ambulance with the conventional stroke care in the specialized stroke units in Berlin before the start of therapy. The main results of the study were: The time saved was about 25 minutes and the lysis rate increased up to 50% in the STEMO vehicle compared to conventional stroke units. Additionally, it could be proved in the study that the pre-hospital stroke care with the STEMO concept is as secure as in the conventional hospitals.
